Welcome to the Morvan,
The Morvan Regional Natural Park is a French park in the heart of Burgundy Region.
La Vieille Forge is located in the center of this park, at less than 3km from the Setton lake, on a path which brings you directly into the forest. Our intention is to offer you a very quiet place in the middle of nature!
During the day, it’s up to you: Stay lazy or rather going out for some activities. You can go mountain biking, follow the GR13 on a hike, rafting on the river “cure” or swimming in the lake. You can also visit “chateaux”, cathedrals, museums, or drive the route of Burgundy wines.

Welcome to the Morvan in Burgundy Region!
La Vieille Forge is in the center of the Morvan Natural Regional Park, at less than 3km from the Setton lakes, on a path which brings you directly to a forest: perfect location to start you hiking or mountain biking.
Rooms
We have two rooms. In each room, there is a bathroom with shower cabin, WC, bathroom sink and a hair dryer.
The size of the beds is 160x200cm minimum .
You can request your preferred room at the time of reservation, however, it is not always possible to guarantee your choice.
(This is especially true in July and August we might have to re-arrange according to needs)
At the ground floor you can also enjoy staying in the shared living room. You can have a coffee or tea, use our free WIFI, read a book or just heat up frozen hands and feet next to the wood stove in winter time.

The price is indicated per room (for 1 or 2 persons) per night, breakfast included.
The tourist tax will be added : 0,70€ per person, per night.

In the presence of other guests, babies and small children are not accepted. We like children but it is simply our choice in order to ensure the calmness of the place, which is often the reason of stay for many guests at our place.
La Vieille Forge is non-smoking. Pets are not allowed.

A bar represent one room. If there are two bars in a same day, it means it is fully booked on that day.

Table d’hôtes
Breakfast will be served every morning in the common living room, or in the garden when the weather is nice. You will taste our bread, jam, and sweets, etc, which are all home-made and prepared with organic ingredients.
If you wish to have dinner prepared by Kumiko, please let us know at the time of your reservation or at least 24h in advance. In general we propose diner about 2 to 3 times a week. If there is no dinner planned we will of course indicate some nice restaurants in the area where you can go to.
Our dishes are 100% home-made, prepared from raw ingredients, mostly organic except the meat.
We can propose a Japanese menu or French menu. The first request will fix the type of menu for the day.
Please note that our specialty is Japanese cuisine so we do recommend you to (re)discover the Japanese cooking in the middle of the Morvan which is a rare occasion!
Japanese dishes in the Morvan? Indeed, it is rare but possible! Here, it is not sushi, sashimi nor skewer, but traditional home cooking with authentic ingredients from organic stores, producers of japanese ingredients in France, and directly from Japan.
You prefer French cooking? It is possible too! According to available ingredients and our craving, you will maybe have a traditional burgundy dishes, typical french, maybe italian or some other international dishes!
*to distinguish the Japanese menu from the others, we named “French menu” but it can be all sorts of cooking.
